Who We Are
A fully accredited daycare and out-of-school care centre dedicated to nurturing every child's potential in a safe, loving environment.
Learning Hands Daycare & OSC
Learning Hands Daycare & OSC stands as a distinguished “fully accredited” centre, conveniently situated in the charming neighbourhood of Elmwood. The visionary behind our exceptional facilities and standards of care is none other than Nanveet Kaur, an esteemed child educator with a lifelong dedication to fostering children's growth.
Nanveet Kaur holds a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Arts, complemented by the prestigious Childcare Development Supervisor Certification from the Province of Alberta. She is also recognised as an Accredited Supported Childcare Assistant and holds Emergency Child Care First Aid certification from the Red Cross. With this extensive expertise, Nanveet ensures unwavering adherence to childcare best practices — providing a nurturing and secure environment for every child in our care.

At Learning Hands Daycare & OSC, our mission is centred around providing personalised care and attention to each child, honouring their individual needs and unique personalities. We take the time to truly know and understand every child entrusted to our care, and we keep parents informed through daily progress reports.
We create an inclusive and loving environment where every child — regardless of abilities, culture, or background — feels accepted, cherished, nurtured, and safe. We are committed to addressing all aspects of a child's development: social, emotional, language, intellectual, physical, and creative.
We embrace a philosophy that fosters learning through play and exploration. Our aim is to provide a safe space where children can try new tasks, enhance their skills, and develop their abilities. We encourage conflict resolution, mutual respect, independence, and self-esteem through positive teacher modelling.
We believe in empowering children to make their own choices and view them as competent, capable members of society. Our program planning revolves around the children's interests — because children learn best when engaged and genuinely interested in what they're doing.
Our Approach

Developing gross and fine motor skills through active play and movement.
Building self-awareness, resilience, and the ability to manage feelings.
Learning cooperation, empathy, and how to build positive relationships.
Encouraging curiosity, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
Nurturing communication, vocabulary, and early literacy skills.
Expressing ideas through art, music, drama, and imaginative play.
Fostering independence, confidence, and everyday life competencies.
